A 'sweet drink', inheritance of the Koutsoyannopoulos family, was bottled a few days ago by the winemaker George Koutsoyannopoulos. Just a few bottles of 375ml host visanto inclusively from the vintage of 1959, after being matured for 50 years in a barrel.
According to the winemaker "We bottles the vinsanto of 1959 to protect it. It's level was being reduced and the oxigen in the barrel could creat abnormalities." It is the first time that the opportunity to study the behaviour and character of such a mature vinsanto was presented to him. Of special interest was its colour (dark shades of brown) and its aroma, that rises cherry, honey, plum, baked caramel and other aromas. According to Mr. Koutsoyannopoulos "it is a once in a lifetime experience".
