The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Returns to Santorini

Get ready to witness a parade of style, classic motorcycles, and a heartfelt cause as The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride returns to Santorini for the eighth time! On Sunday, May 18th, 2025, locals and visitors alike will gather to experience this global event that blends vintage elegance with community spirit.

A Global Ride with a Purpose The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) was first held in 2010 in Australia and has since grown into an international phenomenon. Taking place simultaneously in more than 1,000 cities across 109 countries, the ride raises awareness for men’s health issues, particularly prostate cancer research, while encouraging donations from participants and supporters.

Santorini first joined the DGR in 2016, and this year, it’s back with more enthusiasm than ever! Joining Santorini in this year’s edition are 13 other Greek cities, including Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Heraklion, and more.

The Route and the Atmosphere This year’s ride will begin and end at Ftelos Brewery in Karterados, with stops in Pyrgos, Kamari, and Fira (Mitropolis). The meeting point is set for 4:30 pm, with the parade wrapping up around 8:00 pm, followed by a lively party with live music.

A Spectacle for All While participation as a rider requires formal attire and a vintage or classic motorcycle, visitors are more than welcome to join as spectators. It’s a unique opportunity to see the island’s streets filled with classic motorcycles and stylishly dressed riders, creating a vintage atmosphere that’s both charming and inspiring. The event is also a great way to support men’s health awareness, even if you’re just cheering from the sidelines!
