If you’re visiting Santorini this June, the cable car remains one of the most convenient and scenic ways to travel between the Old Port (Skala) and the town of Fira. Here’s what you need to know before you ride.
Operating Hours – June 2025
The Santorini Cable Car runs daily from 06:30 to 22:00, with the last departure from the upper station at 21:40.
On days when cruise ships are scheduled to arrive, operating hours may be extended to accommodate increased passenger traffic.
Planning to arrive by cruise ship? Check the Santorini Cruise Ship Calendar to see if your visit coincides with arrivals, as this may affect cable car frequency and operating times.

Why Take the Cable Car?
The cable car offers stunning views over the caldera and is by far the fastest and easiest way to reach Fira from the Old Port – especially recommended for cruise visitors and anyone wishing to avoid the steep walk up the 588 steps.
Make the most of your time on the island by planning ahead with the cruise ship schedule and allowing a few extra minutes during peak arrival hours.
