The 2019 annual Ifestia (Volcanoes) Festival is almost here!

Fireworks in Santorini

With the 2019 Volcanoes Festival (Ifestia Festival) approaching, visitors and locals are making their final plans for the main fireworks event this Saturday, the 21st of September. The previous years the show lasted for about 40 minutes, with spectators gathering in the cliff-side of Fira, Firostefani, and Imerovigli to enjoy the rare show. If you don’t have plans for that night already, we highly recommend reserving a table with a view of the volcanic islands on the cliffside or booking one of the available cruises that will be watching the attraction from the sea.

Cruise Options:

If you choose to join one of the cruises that evening, you will be combining a sunset cruise in the Caldera of Santorini with the volcano fireworks event. As one by one the cruise companies are getting full, it is crucial to reserve your seats as soon as possible if you haven’t done so already! The program that day will be starting at 16:30 or 17:00 depending on which cruise you will choose and includes stopping to swim, have full dinner on the boat, enjoy a magnificent sunset and head to the spot where you will be watching the fireworks from, away from the crowds one the cliff-side. The transfers, food, and drinks are included in the total rate of each cruise. They will also be providing towels but do take something warm with you to wear after the sunsets. After the end of the show, you will head back to Vlyhada at about 22:00.

There are 3 options for semi-private cruises that evening:
– A Sail Boat 170 euros per person, up to 16 persons on board.
