Wine maker’s notes

Auniquenaturally sweet white wine made of sun-dried grapes from Santorini Island, with caramel color, vivid aromas of spoons sweets and sun-dried figs, and a sense of sweet spicies.

Winemaking

Grape harvesting and sun-drying procedure for 8-10 days. Then, the sun-dried grapes undergo pressure inside pneumatic press machines. Alcoholic fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks using a specific selection of yeasts in a controlled temperature of 18-20°C. Vinsanto ages in oak barrels for more than 5 years.

Taste features – Aging

Rich dessert wine. It has the color of the caramel with gingery and coppery hues. Vivid smell of cherry and grape spoon sweets, but also of sun-dried figs. The presence of nougat and maple syrup are profound, as well. This aromatic palette is completed with sweetnotes of spicies and followed by the velvety aftertaste of salted butter caramel. A festive wine with rounded and well-structured body to enjoy and relax with.

Ideal food combination

Rich flavored cheeses, sun-dried fruits, and spoon sweets, even with dark chocolate ganache. Vinsanto is a dessert wine that can be delightfully consumed alone as well.
