About the book
This beautifully illustrated bilingual book captures a little piece of the magic of Santorini, an island filled with light, sea, whitewashed paths, and stories waiting to be discovered.
Amid blue seas, volcanic landscapes, and unforgettable sunsets, a little cat and a donkey meet and take you on a charming journey of discovery. A story about friendship, love, and acceptance, inviting readers to see the world with an open heart.
Written in both Greek and English and told in rhyming verse, the story combines the joy of reading with language learning and an introduction to Santorini. The beautiful illustrations bring the island to life, while introducing young readers to elements of its culture and history.
The final pages include fun colouring activities, inviting children to create, explore, and discover their own Santorini.
About the author
Sara Alzalki Vryoni, of Greek-Syrian heritage, studied Architecture and Photography in England, where she lived for several years. She has travelled extensively and experienced different places and cultures, experiences that have deeply influenced the way she sees the world and tells her stories.
Today, she lives in Santorini with her family. Motherhood opened a new creative chapter in her life, leading her to write children’s stories inspired by everyday life, imagination, and her love for children.
Her books are written for young readers, while always carrying a meaningful message for grown-ups, too. Her stories may begin in the world of children, but often hold a deeper meaning, leaving every reader with something to think about, feel, or carry in their heart.
She is the author of Tinos eisai esy?, Fa to Falainaki, and Enas Pinguinos sto Psygeio Mou, and has also contributed to the collective book Mikra kai Pashalina. Alongside her writing, she is the creator of Santo Mama, a community for mothers and families in Santorini, created to foster con-nection, mutual support, and beautiful shared experiences.
